Two months ahead of the official tastings, Strasbourg Events reminds producers that registrations are open for its two international wine competitions 2026, to be held on March 14 and 15 at the Strasbourg Convention Centre. The Mondial des Vins Blancs Strasbourg, a global benchmark for 28 years, and the first edition of the European Red & Rosé Wine Contest reflect a shared ambition: to support wine professionals, promote products rooted in tradition, and provide international visibility to viticultural excellence. At a time when the wine industry is undergoing profound economic, societal and consumption-related transformations, Strasbourg Events reaffirms its role as a committed stakeholder alongside winegrowers, terroirs and excellence-driven expertise.

On March 14 and 15, 2026, Strasbourg will simultaneously host two major international wine events: - the 28th edition of the Mondial des Vins Blancs Strasbourg, the only competition worldwide exclusively dedicated to the full diversity of white wines, held for the 16th consecutive year under the patronage of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV), a member of VINOFED, and for the first time in 2026 also under the patronage of the International Union of Oenologists (UIOE). This dual institutional patronage strengthens the scientific, technical and qualitative legitimacy of the Mondial des Vins Blancs Strasbourg and confirms its role as an international reference serving winegrowers and terroirs worldwide. – and the launch of the first edition of the European Red & Rosé Wine Contest, a new competition with a European dimension, dedicated to the diversity of red and rosé wines produced in the member countries of the European Union and the Council of Europe. For winegrowers, more than ever, choosing a competition also means choosing the credibility of the recognition it delivers.

In a landscape marked by the proliferation of wine competitions, Strasbourg Events promotes a demanding and widely recognised approach, based on the expertise of 60 international jurors, the rigour of the tasting process, and the endorsement of the highest international authorities within the wine sector. The 2026 edition fully embodies this commitment with a major new feature shared by both competitions: the inclusion of wines produced from ungrafted vines (francs de pied) — a world first — highlighting rare practices and an exceptional viticultural heritage. Those vines are still cultivated on their original terroirs by winegrowers dedicated to preserving this rare and exceptional heritage.

13 categories showcasing the excellence of major white grape varieties and world terroirs, while reflecting current trends: Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Muscat, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Sylvaner, Viognier, Other white grape varieties, Blends, and Dealcoholised / No-Low wines. 6 categories highlighting European red grape varieties and current trends: Still red wine – Sparkling red wine – Dealcoholised red wine Still rosé wine – Sparkling rosé wine – Dealcoholised rosé wine Nearly 30 years of experience, international juries and a recognised methodology, this is the hallmark of Strasbourg Events’ wine competitions. Winners of the Special Prizes from both competitions will benefit from international media exposure and enhanced visibility, supported by the competitions’ media partnerships and press relations.
