For its 26th edition, the organisers of the competition, always connected to wine trends, are giving pride of place to bubbles.
The mission of the competition is to celebrate the work of the world's winegrowers at its true value and to best guide wine lovers and other consumers in their purchasing decision. According to numerous articles in the specialised press, white wine continues to be on the rise and sparkling wines are also increasingly in demand, not only in Europe, but also in the New World and on other continents.
Champagne, Crémants from France and Luxembourg, spumanti from Italy, Cava from Spain, Sekt from Germany and Austria were not long in coming; sparkling wines from Australia, the United Kingdom and the USA and other sparkling wines, notably Japanese and Czech, as well as Slovakia and Ukraine, are already jostling at the gate to be celebrated next March at the highest international level in the European capital.

In addition to the Grand Jury Prize which rewards the white wine having obtained the best score in the competition in all categories and the other special prizes, the jury will also position itself regarding the awarding of 3 favorites with a spotlight on the best sparkling wine.

A JURY OF INTERNATIONAL EXPERTS
Imagine 10 tables of 7 professional tasters from 25 countries, 5 continents who speak one and the same language, that of excellence!
Each of them works with their experience and on the basis of the OIV grading grid. These professionals never stop preparing to provide the necessary conditions for optimal tasting.
It is with the greatest respect that they measure the fruit of the winegrowers' work; each wine judge's appreciation will be decisive in the awarding of a medal.
The 70 judges aware of this responsibility are selected from among the best world experts. There we find sommeliers including Serge DUBS Best Sommelier in the World 1989, godfather of the 25th anniversary of the Mondial in 2023, wholesalers, wine merchants, enologists, winegrowers and journalists
POWERFUL QUALITY AND SERIOUS FLAVORS
The Mondial des Vins Blancs Strasbourg is proud of the patronage of the OIV, the International Organisation of Vine and Wine which, for the 13th consecutive edition, renews its confidence in the organisation orchestrated by Strasbourg Events. As a true “UN of wine”, the OIV has 50 member countries and is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2024. The OIV strives to indicate to its Member States the measures to take into account the concerns of producers, consumers and other players in the wine industry.
The OIV assists other international organizations, particularly those pursuing normative activities.
And finally, the OIV contributes to the international harmonization of existing practices and standards, in order to improve the conditions for the development and marketing of wine products and to take into account the interests of consumers.
To obtain this prestigious patronage, the competitions are supervised and must meet the strict rules governed by the OIV. As such, delegates appointed by the OIV attend the competitions and ensure their respect.
Moreover, the Honorary President of the OIV, Madam Pr. Dr. Monika Christmann, announced her presence to carry out this mission while being involved as an expert jury.
In France alone, more than a hundred competitions are organised in the wine industry each year. Only a handful benefit from the prestigious patronage of the OIV.

The competition is also a VINOFED member and will celebrate in 2024 the 10th anniversary of its membership in the World Federation of Major International Wine and Spirits Competitions, which regroups15 members to date. The Federation demonstrates dynamism in terms of partnerships with powerful players in the wine industry. Indeed, all the medal-winning wines from VINOFED member competitions are then listed on the commercial platforms Wine-searcher.com and most recently also on Weinplus.de. These relays guarantee great visibility for medal-winning wines with a direct impact on sales.
Since 2019, VINOFED, a selective federation on the lookout for trends, is also the instigator of the VINOFED Trophy which rewards the best dry wine in the competition. This trophy is awarded during the Mondial des Vins Blancs as well as within the 14 other member competitions.
