On November 1, the 4th Greek Wine Day was held with great success in Florence, establishing itself as the leading event for promoting Greek wine in Italy. The event was held under the auspices of the Honorary Consulate of Greece in Florence and the Municipality of Thira.

 

The exhibition attracted over 350 visitors, mainly professionals from the Italian wine industry. Among the distinguished guests were the first Italian Master of Wine, Mr. Gabriele Gorelli, the Vice President of the Tuscany Region, Ms. Stefania Saccardi, City Councilor Enrico Ricci, as well as Italian journalists, including Monica Gocci from Tgcom 24 with her husband, film producer Giacomo Rossi, owner of the Cole di Corte winery.

Also present were the Public Relations managers of Chianti Classico and Brunello di Montalcino, wine importers, wine merchants from Tuscany and other regions of Italy, restaurants, wine producers, Italy's best sommelier for 2025, awarded by Gambero Rosso, as well as restaurant sommeliers and bloggers. A total of 54 wineries participated in the event, 49 of which presented their wines. In addition, 8 wineries from Santorini participated in the Vin Santo Chianti Classico and Vinsanto Santorini tasting, which impressed the audience. Visitors expressed their desire to repeat this unique experience at other events, highlighting the harmony and uniqueness of these two selected wines.

 

 

During the event, the Editor-in-Chief of Wine Surf, Carlo Macchi, and honorary member of Greek Wine Day, was honored for his significant contribution to the promotion of Greek wine. At the same time, for the second consecutive year, the five wines selected in the fifth edition of the social guide "I vini del cuore" (The wines of our hearts), which will soon be available on the most important publishing platforms, both in ebook and print form.
