The 40th Chablis Wine Competition organised by the Chablis Office in partnership with the Bourgogne Wine Board and  took place on Saturday, 17 January 2026, under the presidency of Julia Scavo, a committed and internationally recognised sommelier.

The 65 members of the jury tasted the 2024 vintage for the Petit Chablis, Chablis, and Chablis Premier Cru appellations, and the 2023 vintage for the Chablis Grand Cru AOC. They awarded 23 medals out of the 233 wines entered.
This 40th edition was marked by a reduction in the number of samples presented due to the low yields of the 2024 vintage.

A specific feature of this competition is that professionals submitting samples may not serve on the jury. The tasters include journalists, restaurateurs, sommeliers, brokers, oenologists, winegrowers, and knowledgeable amateurs.

This year, notable jury members included Gérard Margeon, Executive Head Sommelier for the Alain Ducasse Group; Toshio Matsuura, Japanese journalist; Jean-Luc Jamrozik, President of the Paris Sommeliers Association; and Laurent Charrière, influencer better known on Instagram as @vins_du_capitaine.

The wines are judged in two stages: samples receiving the highest scores in the first round, involving all tasters, then proceed to the Super Jury, the only body authorised to award medals.
