"It is exceptionally rare to encounter such a large collection of wines from a domaine of this calibre, particularly in such outstanding condition and with verticals spanning an average of ten years. The excellent fill levels, pristine labels and remarkable consistency of the collection are a testament to the meticulous care taken in both its acquisition and storage."

The vision of a passionate wine collector
This remarkable cellar was assembled by a discerning collector with a distinctly French sense of style and refinement, whose passion and connections enabled him to secure allocations from some of the world’s most prestigious domaines, long before they attracted widespread international attention. For this true wine connoisseur, wine was above all about sharing and passion. Meticulous by nature, he devoted exceptional care to his cellar, ensuring impeccable storage conditions and fully documented provenance.
A truly rare and exceptional selection
At the heart of this selection lies one of the most extraordinary collections of wines from the legendary Domaine Coche-Dury. Revered by collectors worldwide for the remarkable precision and concentration of its wines, the domaine is represented here by nearly 100 lots comprising 465 bottles, including a series of exceptional verticals.
Among the highlights of the auction are a vertical of Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (2005–2016, lots 90–101), an outstanding selection of Meursault-Perrières Premier Cru (2006–2016, lots 80–89) and Meursault-Genevrières Premier Cru (2009–2017, lots 69–77). A particular highlight is an impressive vertical of more than 250 bottles of Meursault Village, spanning over two decades of vintages from 1995 to 2017 (lots 16–53).
The collection also showcases some of Burgundy’s most prestigious names. Collectors will discover exceptional wines from Domaine des Comtes Lafon and Arnaud Ente, alongside remarkable Chablis Premiers and Grands Crus from Domaine Vincent Dauvissat, all purchased directly from the producers. This passion for Chardonnay extends to the Mâconnais, with wines from Guffens-Heynen and Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon, and reaches as far as Champagne, with the highly sought-after Blanc de Blancs cuvées of Ulysse Collin.
The collection is further distinguished by an exceptionally rare selection of more than 70 bottles sourced directly from Clos Rougeard (lots 177–189), one of the Loire Valley’s most celebrated estates. Finally, the auction features wines from Jean-Louis Chave, internationally renowned for his outstanding red and white Hermitage wines (lots 172–175).
Impeccable provenance and perfect storage conditions
In the fine wine market, provenance is paramount. The defining strength of this collection lies in its impeccable provenance, supported in most cases by original purchase invoices. Built on longstanding relationships of trust with the winemakers, virtually all the bottles were acquired directly from the domaines through private allocations.
Stored in a cellar with consistently optimal temperature and humidity levels, the collection has remained undisturbed since the wines were first acquired from the producers. This exceptional provenance and meticulous care are reflected in the remarkably high fill levels of the vast majority of bottles, offering prospective buyers outstanding assurance of their preservation and condition.
Carefully assembled over decades, this remarkable private collection is the culmination of a lifetime devoted to fine wine. It reflects the vision of a passionate and discerning collector, for whom wine was never a speculative investment, but an integral part of a way of life, best enjoyed in the company of friends and over fine food. This auction offers collectors a rare opportunity to acquire some of the world’s most exceptional and sought-after wines, many of which are rarely available on the market.
