VINITALY SPECIAL EDITION EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS: 12 THOUSAND OPERATORS WITH 2500 FOREIGNERS FROM 60 COUNTRIES.

WINNING THE ALL-BUSINESS FORMULA FOR COMPANIES, CONSORTIUM AND ORGANIZATIONS.

With more than 12,000 professional operators, more than 2500 buyers (about 22% of the total) and 60 countries represented, Veronafiere yesterday closed the special and extraordinary edition of Vinitaly, the third and last Italian stage connecting to the 54th edition scheduled 10-13 April 2022.

"Companies, consortium, agricultural and supply chain associations and operators have rewarded the project of this business initiative that has recorded a high rate of contacts and sales, as well as a unanimous satisfaction index. The third Vinitaly event," concludes Danese, "is part of a scenario of great acceleration of Made in Italy exports and Italian wine on all the main target markets, including the domestic one, thanks to collaboration with Fipe and Vinarius. We are experiencing a strong recovery that finds in Veronafiere a fundamental driver for the internationalization of SMEs and Italian wine, committed to increasing the value of sales.

As regards the map of countries attending Vinitaly Special Edition, Europe (with Northern countries, Germany and France in the lead), Russia, the United States and Canada lead the demand for Italian wine at the exhibition, followed by Eastern Europe (Romania, Ukraine, Poland, Belarus, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic), the United Kingdom and China, which made its return in Verona. "A geography - comments Giovanni Mantovani, Director General of Veronafiere - perfectly in line with the growth data recorded on international markets which, in the first 7 months of this year, showed an overall rebound of 15% over the same period last year. We have maintained our declared commitment, that is, a highly qualified special edition, thanks also to the support of Ice-Agenzia," continues Mantovani, "with foreign operators coming precisely from the areas in which Italian wine is growing significantly. Now," concluded the director, "we are aiming at 2022, to achieve a great 54th Vinitaly.

Among the areas of interest for operators and buyers, those dedicated to organic and organic wine registered a surge in attendance. During the three days, in fact, the 42 exhibiting companies in this segment had their diaries filled with b2b appointments, especially with representatives from Northern Europe and Germany. While on the new trends front, the Mixology masterclasses calendar was sold out. There was also a positive response for Sol&Agrifood and Enolitech, which were also in their extraordinary versions.

Allwinestories followed all the events and especialy the conference  that had been organized by Associazione Enoteche Italiane Vinarius with the title:

"The wine shop for the next 40 years, wine, tourism, digitization, agri-food crafts".

An imminent future that requires all the players in the supply chain involved to define concrete and political tools that are up to the challenges we are called to face. Starting from a profound reflection on the evolution of the figure of the winemaker and his now recognized role as consultant and communicator of wine culture in the broadest sense, the conference will analyze the fundamental assets of the evolutionary process of today's wine shop: wine, the cornerstone product of a system that has been able to adapt better than others to the challenges of the last two years and be appreciated by an increasingly articulated public; tourism, understood as a driving force for the whole agri-food sector that needs to be put into a system to produce even more value; the territory, a multi-actor platform within which to create an increasingly concrete and effective synergy between all the parties involved; agri-food craftsmanship, an invaluable Made in Italy heritage through which to enhance our food excellence; and finally digitization, the main tool today to create widespread, fast and targeted communication but also an indispensable means for the wine shop through which to develop new sales and contact channels.
