A new wine tasting event has been designed to showcase just before Christmas and New Year's Eve the two top wine categories that ideally define the beginning and end of a dinner, the pre-dinner and dessert wines. It is the "Foam & Nectar" event, which will take place on Sunday 12 December 2021 in the Terpsichore Room of the Hilton Hotel, observing every protocol for Covid-19. It is about Greek and foreign products, among which are great and particularly beloved wines, ideal for the holiday table, but also for all year round, even independently of food, e.g. instead of other drinks.
From champagne to prosecco and the fast-growing Greek sparkling wines, and from the legendary port to the magnificent moschata and vinsanto of Greece, sparkling wines and sweet wines will fill "Afros & Nectar" with aromas and flavours from the best that the Greek and international vineyards have to offer to their devotees. They are, in fact, some of the most enthusiastic and fanatical among winelovers! All this two weeks before Christmas and on a Sunday when the city's shops are open, that is, within a thoroughly festive atmosphere that can make a visit to the event a special festive outing.

Afros & Nectar is, in fact, the confluence of two wine events: the well-established and much-loved Afros & Bubbles for sparkling wines, held since 2006 at the start of the Christmas festive season, and Nectar for sweet wines, which was held annually from 2005 to 2007. All under the guarantee of Vinetum, known for organizing the largest Greek wine fair in the world, Oenorama. In "Afros & Nectar 2021", which is being organized in this format for the first time, Greek wineries and wine import companies will bring dozens of sparkling and sweet wines from the Greek and foreign vineyards for tasting. For the sparkling wines, there is no need to say too much, since the aforementioned event exclusively for sparkling wines has written its own history. What will certainly cause a sensation is the presence of emblematic Greek sweet wines, e.g. from Lemnos, Samos, Santorini and elsewhere, some of them even world-class, which make our country proud of its wines.
Entrance to "Afros & Nectar" will be strictly controlled and will be allowed only to those who have a Covid-19 certificate of infection or relevant vaccination in force, while the number of people in the hall will be limited. For this reason, the duration of the event will be divided into two reception periods, 11:00 - 15:00 the first and 16:00 - 20:00 the second, with one hour for cleaning and ventilation of the hall in between. Thus, ticket availability is very limited and only 250 visitors per time period, who can secure tickets through the Viva platform, where they are pre-sold for 10€ each (student 7€). It is estimated that 4 hours is enough time to taste the wines of the event. However, those who wish can attend both time periods, taking a ticket for each and knowing that at 15:00-16:00 the hall will be cleared.
