2021 left a warm wine feeling to the more than 120 invited wine professionals of Thessaloniki, who were present on Tuesday, December 28th, at YPSILON, in Thessaloniki.

The Karasimou Estate, the Kourtis Estate, the Xiromeritis Estate, the Papagiannouli Winery, the Papachristodoulou Winery, the Pantouli Winery and the Oraia Gei Vineyards are the seven wineries located within the boundaries of the Municipality of Katerini and presented for the first time together, the whole range of their wines, special bottlings and old vintages.

The guests, journalists, wine merchants, sommeliers and wine connoisseurs from the most important food and hoteling areas of Thessaloniki and Halkidiki, were thrilled by the level and pluralism of the wines of a wine community that until recently was unknown to most people.

The tasting, which started in the afternoon and lasted until late in the evening, was enriched by various thematic presentations, such as the masterclasses of wine journalist Stefanos Kogias DipWSET and Spyros Blatsios, who put on the table some of the best samples of the vineyard of Katerini, unfolding the gifts, but also analyzing the possibilities for the future.

The discussions about the potential of this charismatic land, wedged between the Mountain of the Gods, Mount Olympus, the Pieria Mountains and the Thermaikos Gulf, were many and interesting, among important wine personalities such as Fr. The joint presentation of Katerini Wineries at YΨILON, in Thessaloniki, one of the last days of 2021, gives a resounding answer to all the above questions and the message is that with synergies, actions and a common spirit, the wines of Katerini Wineries can look as high as the peak of Mount Olympus that embraces them with its light.
