The Peloponnese Wine Festival 2022 was successfully held after two years at the Royal Olympic Hotel in Athens on Monday 21 February. 740 visitors, the majority of whom were wine professionals, attended the event organised by the Peloponnese Wine Producers' Association of the Peloponnese Vineyard, meeting 43 winemakers.

The winemakers and the wine-loving public had the opportunity to meet again after two years, which found everyone excited. Those present had the opportunity to taste the "treasures" of the Peloponnesian vineyard and to talk to their favourite producers. The representation of the unique Peloponnese vineyards was universal. Nineteen producers from Corinth and Argolida participated in the exhibition, most of whom were based in the impressive Nemea vineyard. Arcadia participated with 5 wineries based in the historic Mantineia and Achaia with its four appellations of origin and impressive mountain vineyards with 11 wineries. Ilia, Laconia and Messinia completed with 4, 2 and 2 wineries respectively the plurality and the impressive range of terroir and varieties available in the largest vineyard in Greece.

A total of 438 wines from indigenous and cosmopolitan varieties were available for tasting by visitors in a wine marathon of tasting, exchanging opinions and discussing the next day. Another element that characterized this year's exhibition was the strong presence of the new generation of established wineries of the Peloponnese behind the stands and the participation of new and quality wineries that highlighted the depth and continuous evolution of the Peloponnesian vineyard.

Mr. Aristos Spanos President of ENOAP said: "The Peloponnese Wine Festival 2022 was a successful and safe event. It proved once again that the quality of Peloponnesian wines is at a very high level. The wines of the Peloponnese continue to pioneer and create trends in the Greek and global wine scene."

Manolis Giamniadakis, Executive Director of ENOAP said: Our collaboration with Marianna Makrygiannis, Vasso Koutsovoulou and Gregory Michailos makes me proud because every year we open new ways of promotion for Peloponnesian wines, keeping the quality of our events high.
