The best wine shops owners in Italy 2022 are: Luca Sarais of  "THE ENOTECA CON MESCITA CANTINE ISOLA

and Filippo Carraretto of "THE BOTTIGLIERIA LA MIA CANTINA".

The names of the winners were revealed during last night's final, Monday 20 June. Daniele Leopardi was also awarded Best Wine Shopkeeper of Italy Abroad, while Filippo Carraretto also won the title Best Wine Shopkeeper Under 30.

 The names of the winners of the Best Wine Shopkeeper of Italy competition have finally been revealed for the two categories in the competition, bottle shops and wine shops. It was Luca Sarais and Filippo Carraretto who overcame the various challenges designed to test the participants' skills and were crowned by the jury headed by journalist, writer and expert Stefano Caffarri. A journey that began in the early months of 2022 and ended yesterday evening in the stunning setting of Borgo Pallavicini Mori in the Roman countryside, which exalted the professional figure of the wine expert.

  "We are proud to have rewarded the skills, knowledge and abilities of these professionals. This was not only a competition, but also a moment of encounter for the entire category, a moment of training and improvement.  - says Francesco Bonfio, President of AEPI - Our goal was to be able to put the spotlight on this profession, central in the world of wine and spirits for its particular proximity to the consumer. A closeness that we wanted to celebrate through the various tests to which the professional wine shops have been subjected in recent months. Luca and Filippo, are the flag of this profession for their skills and for their ability to deal with the customer, for their ability to interface with producers giving priority to attention to detail and listening".

Under the aegis of the Consortium of Valpolicella, Daniele Leopardi, of the Enoteca Tentazioni in Paris, was awarded the prize for Best Italian Wine Shopkeeper Abroad: "We all congratulate Leopardi who operates in Paris, where you are on top of the world with all the honours and burdens that come with it. - continues Bonfio - Paris has always been a hard place for the consumption of French wines; knowing that we have a professional capable of representing Italy and its wines so well abroad certainly does us honour'.

Filippo Carraretto of the wine shop La Mia Cantina in Padua was also awarded Best Wine Shopkeeper Under 30, with the Chianti Classico Consortium promoting the prize: "A true rising star, as young as he is talented and with a bright future ahead of him," explained Francesco Bonfio. "We can only thank the Chianti Classico Consortium for allowing us to award Filippo for the skills he has demonstrated throughout his career.

Best Foreign Wine Shop 

Not only tests and competitions marked the Miglior Enotecario D' Italia 2022, but also moments of advanced training made possible thanks to the partnership with the Champagne Committee and the Brunello di Montalcino Wine Consortium. In fact, one of the objectives of the competition was to create opportunities for union and contamination between the various skills of the wine shop owners in the competition. "Meeting and allowing professionals in the sector to exchange views on topics such as consultancy activities, contact with the consumer, technical knowledge regarding labels, the cultural basis for enhancing the product, and the human depth that is fundamental for this figure were the real winning key for this competition. Being part of it as president of the jury together with my colleagues: Chiara Giovoni, communicator, Leila Salimbeni, journalist, Cristian Deflorian of Pasta Felicetti and professional sommelier Giuseppe Vaccarini was a great honour,' explains Stefano Caffarri.
