160 barrels from 19 cuvées of the 2022 vintage will go under the hammer at the Château du Clos de Vougeot.
The annual wine auction is the opportunity for the Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges estate to support a charity by donating the proceeds from the sale of a pièce of wine, known as the “Benefactors’ Cuvée”. The actress Constance Dollé will preside over the event in 2023.
For the 62nd edition, the Domaine des Hospices will be supporting the charity Les Blouses Roses which, through the proceeds of the sale, will undertake actions to help children hospitalized in Dijon and those with a disability (sessions of animal mediation and music therapy).

The 2022 vintage will be the star of the show: The wines will finish ageing with négociants acting for the buyers.
According to the estate’s winemaker, Jean-Marc Moron, vinification unfolded smoothly, with regular and rapid fermentation. The harvest filled the winery with intense fruit aromas. The juice quickly took on color, and two-to-three weeks of maceration allowed the cuvées to attain the required balance. “We used a lot of long pumping over for gentle extraction,” he notes.
