QANOPEE (QuArt NOrd-Est PreMultiplication collectivE) is the name of a major and innovative project for Burgundy wines. Indeed, the search for quality and an irreproachable health guarantee of vine plants has led the three Beaujolais, Champagne and Burgundy inter-professional associations to invest in a project to produce plant material, grafts and rootstocks, in confined, bioclimatic greenhouses.
This type of greenhouse is a novelty for the production of vine plants. QANOPEE is the first investment of its kind made by inter-professional organisations. It will be located in Champagne in the town of Blancs-Coteaux (OGER's business area) south of Epernay.
It is supported by an association that brings together the three vineyards mentioned above, which is chaired by Thiébault HUBER, president of the Confederation of Appellations and Winegrowers of Burgundy (CAVB).
These three inter-branch organisations provided funding for the project, which is strongly supported by the European EAFRD fund, and by the local authorities of the three vineyards concerned, whether they are the Regions, Departments or Agglomerations.
In this context of strong mobilization of the territories, both by public and private actors, the Bureau Interprofessionnel des Vins de Bourgogne (BIVB) is delighted with the upcoming signing of the construction contract. It will realize the ambitions of all.
This work will last just under 18 months and the first plants will be delivered in 2027.
