IKnowHow, one of the leading technology and software companies in Greece, organized a workshop dedicated to precision viticulture, where it presented the latest developments in agricultural technology, with special emphasis on the innovative solution "Oenolytics".
The workshop, which brought together experts from the viticulture sector and technology in general, took place on Thursday, June 22 at the Markou Wine Museum.

Attendees had the opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas on the latest developments in viticulture technology, learn about best practices in the sector and explore cutting-edge solutions that can transform vineyard operations and farming in general in Europe.

The highlight of the event was the demonstration of the results of the "Oenolytics" project, the holistic Precision Viticulture solution developed by IKnowHow in collaboration with UCANDRONE and QCell. The solution provides small and medium-sized vineyard owners with unparalleled precision in pesticide and fertilizer use, effective vineyard monitoring and the determination of specific taste results. But what makes the "Oenolytics" technology platform stand out from other solutions currently offered in this market is its significantly lower cost. This accessibility makes it particularly attractive for small vineyards throughout the European Union.

"We are excited to present the holistic solution of 'Oenolytics' to the viticultural community today," said IKnowHow CEO Ms. Katerina Fotopoulou." "Our core mission at IKnowHow has been and remains to solve difficult problems using advanced technology that will solve everyday problems for all types of businesses. With 'Oenolytics', we are taking an important step towards empowering small EU vineyards with a state-of-the-art Precision Viticulture solution that was previously only available to larger companies."

During the workshop, attendees had the opportunity to watch live demonstrations of the "Oenolytics" technologies and learn first-hand how they enable vineyard owners to collect accurate data on soil composition, plant health and climatic conditions. This enables them to make data-driven decisions that optimise their production yields and the quality of the grapes they grow.

At the event, experts in the field of viticulture and precision agriculture also spoke, using technologies such as drones, IoT devices, robotic systems, etc. that make up the "Oenolytics" solution. During their talks, they discussed topics such as emerging trends in vineyard management, the potential impact of technology on wine production and the advantages of adopting precision viticulture practices.

Through the widespread adoption and use of the "Oenolytics" platform, it is estimated to reduce more than 570 tonnes of pesticides, and 23,000 tonnes in fertilizers but also to allow for a cost reduction of €48.9 million and an increase in revenue of €68.1 million for the EU wine industry. The Oenolytics project is co-funded by Greece and the European Union (Special Service for the Management and Implementation of Research, Technological Development and Innovation Actions (EIDHR) www.eyde-etak.gr).
